LAB3.14

LAB3.14 is a Contemporary Dance Collective founded in 2017 by the artistic director and choreographer Albert Garrell.

LAB3.14 aims to accommodate emerging and experienced artists within the artistic field; explore new territories and dialogues with the viewer.

The collective is based on the foundation of building sociocultural initiatives that could potentially allow an emotional exchange on the way we perceive and feel our internal and most sacred world.

The vision of LAB3.14 consists on recognizing the collective’s work through its own identity and creations.

LAB3.14’s first production was a finalist at the 3rd edition of the Choreographic Competition “Premi de Dansa” 2017 at the Institut del Teatre, Barcelona. Since then, the piece has been represented in various theaters at a territorial level: Mercat de les Flors (Barcelona); SAT Teatre Sant Andreu (Barcelona); Teatre Municipal Can Gomà (Mollet del Vallès, Barcelona); l’Estruch Fàbrica de Creació (Sabadell, Barcelona). 

Since 2019, LAB3.14 has been immersed in the creation of three new works: the duet A PRIMARY QUESTION (2021), TENDER SKIN (2022) and the creation of the Short Film STATE OF HOAX (2022).

In a national level, A PRIMARY QUESTION won the 1st price at the “Premis Órbita” Competition in its first edition, Tarragona, Barcelona, 2023; as well as being performed at the Gala of Catalan Dancers Around the World, Auditori Teatre Sant Cugat, Barcelona in the same year, along with the duet TENDER SKIN. 

In May 2023, both duets participated at the the Festival & Competition SoloDuo Festival nrw + Friends 2023, Cologne, Germany.

In December 2023, the duet became a finalist at the 37 CCDM, Certámen Coregográfico de Madrid - Pasoa2 with the duet TENDER SKIN, being awarded with the invitation to perform at the festival Dansa València, in 2024.

The short film STATE OF HOAX has been screened at LabCutural Barcelona, an artistic association dedicated to the arts as well as having been accepted at the TANZAHOI Festival, Hamburg, Germany. 

More recently, the duet TENDER SKIN has participated at the Festival Miratges 2024, Barcelona; the Choreographic Competition Burgos - New York 2024 and will participate at the upcoming edition of MASDANZA Choreographic Competition, Canary Islands, Spain, and perform the piece in its peninsular tour as a guest company.

Since beginning of September 2024, the collective has began the creation of a new production, JUDITH.
